Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn – One last blast from the past - July 2020

Hello all,

Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn July 2020.jpg

Are you still standing?

When I breezily signed off my last newsletter with, ‘enjoy the ride’, I don’t think I quite realised how intense ‘the ride’ was going to get.  This has been one hell of an eclipse season!

We’ve had thunder storms, heat waves, increasing political volatility and in my case an exploding hair dryer and burnt-out wireless router! The final straw, when I finally got to a dentist, was a broken tooth which was yanked out there and then, roots and all. The symbolism of the elimination of my toxic roots wasn’t lost on me. We’ve reached a pivotal turning point in a year of unprecedented change. The urgency and potential for ridding ourselves of what no longer serves us, on a personal and global level, is reaching a climax.

These eclipses have been highlighting outdated structures and beliefs and clearing out stuck energy and old karma.  If we can go with the flow of this potent energy, rather than against it, it will help take us into our next chapter.  Ultimately, things are moving forwards; we just have to trust the chaotic process that’s taking us there.

This weekend we have our third and final eclipse of the summer.

LUNAR ECLIPSE (FULL MOON) 13 DEGREES CAPRICORN

Sunday 5 July – 05.44am UK BST, 00.44am EST, Saturday 4 July 09.44pm PST

The purging energies of this weekend’s aptly named, ‘Thunder Moon,’ are starting to build.  This powerful Full Moon ends the current Eclipse Season and completes the Cancer/Capricorn Eclipse Cycle that we’ve been working with since July 2018.    In short, it marks the culmination of a two-year cycle which is now coming to an end.

At the same time, Saturn the Lord of Karma and ruler of this eclipse, has just moved back to the 29-degree point of Capricorn.  When Saturn first moved into Aquarius, on 21st March, we started to get a glimpse of what our future might look like.  But now that it’s joined Jupiter and Pluto, all retrograde in Capricorn, a heaviness and intensity is dominating the sky.  It’s as if all these heavyweight planets have gone back into the boardroom for a review.  How are we doing? Are we learning our lessons?  What does humanity still need to let go of in order to heal and move forward?  It’s quite an agenda.

The Moon in Capricorn conjunct the South Node (our collective past), suggests we still have unfinished business and karma to attend to; hence another big purging is on its way.

The Sun and retrograde Mercury in Cancer, conjunct the North node (our collective soul growth), is asking us to be gentle with ourselves. The Cancer Sun is illuminating what we need to let go of.  But rather than adopting the Capricorn tendency of trying to work it all out, this eclipse is encouraging us to be with how we feel, go with the flow and allow something to move through us without necessarily understanding what it is. The energy of the eclipse will do all the work necessary to take away what is no longer needed.

Things may have felt difficult in the lead up to this eclipse, but a supportive trine aspect between the Sun and Moon and revolutionary Uranus, will help break old, entrenched patterns and set us free.  Then, ten hours after the eclipse is exact, the Moon will meet Neptune (divine energy/flow) providing a strong connection to source and an easy release.

IN THE NEWS

Politically, it’s an explosive time. The next phase of the irreversible collapse and transformation of the world’s power structures, is about to begin.

This Full Moon is taking place on America’s birthday.  The Moon at 13 degrees Capricorn will be directly opposite the USA’s Cancer Sun. In Astrology, the Sun represents the core of who we are and why we are here.  The eclipse will impact the very heart of America directly challenging its identity and creative purpose as a nation. With its Sun at 10 degrees Capricorn and Moon at 19 degrees Cancer, The UK is also getting a direct hit.

Capricorn and Saturn represent law and order and demand accountability, whilst eclipses unearth and expose what’s previously been hidden. In this week’s news, Ghislaine Maxwell, the ex-girlfriend of disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and perjury.  With four planets, including the Sun and Saturn, in Capricorn, Maxwell is having what’s known as her second Saturn return, which is often a time of reckoning.  In true Saturnian symbolism, if she’s found guilty, she could spend the rest of her life in prison.

And in other news UK police have arrested over 740 ‘untouchable’ UK crime bosses, arms dealers and drugs lords responsible for countless killings.  ‘You can run but you can’t hide,’ should be the tag line for this eclipse.  I’d expect stories in a similar vein to feature in the headlines over the coming week.

We have a busy second half of the year coming up.  Mars, the planet of action, has just entered its home sign of Aries and will stay there for six months.  Between 9 September and 14 November, Mars will be retrograde, and for some of that time, will be making a challenging square aspect to Pluto, Jupiter and Saturn.  This indicates more battles between individuals (Aries), and the people in power (Capricorn).  It could also describe the bumpy road ahead as the world tries to ease itself out of lockdown.

But overall, as we head towards a new world and a new paradigm, the courageous and initiatory energy of Mars in Aries will help us to pave the way forward and keep the momentum going.  Its retrograde period will give us the opportunity to slow down, take a breath and make any necessary adjustments to our plans.

The wonderful ongoing sextile aspect between spiritual, imaginative Neptune, and visionary, Jupiter, the planet of miracles, will help us to rise above the chaos and keep our dreams alive.

One giant leap for humanity is on its way and the manifesting energies are strong.  Let’s tap into the power of the collective imagination and co-create our future!

The secret to change is to focus

all of your energy, not on fighting

the old, but on building the new.

Socrates

Take care, Tanya
