New Moon Solar Eclipse In Sagittarius - Bouncing Back - 4 December, 2021
If you were planning to start unwinding for Christmas you might have to think again. With significant planetary cycles coming to an end and new ones beginning, December is set to be an action-packed month!
The biggest planetary transit of 2021 will complete on Christmas Eve when Uranus makes an exact square to Saturn for the third and final time. This challenging aspect has been helping us to free ourselves (Uranus) from the old structures (Saturn), whilst integrating existing structures (Saturn) in a new way (Uranus).
For much of this year there’s been a push/pull going on between the old and the new. The energy of Uranus is like a bolt of lightning but Saturn tends to slow things down to make sure everything is in good working order. At times it’s felt a bit like having an accelerator on whilst still hanging on to the break. Some of this has been about our collective and personal resistance to change.
However, we could start to feel a shift at the end of December when Jupiter moves out of Aquarius, a Saturn ruled sign and into Pisces where it’s completely at home. Pisces is the sign of spiritual connection and release. It can help us to move on and let go.
Today’s Solar Eclipse in freedom loving, future-orientated Sagittarius will help kick start this process.
This extra powerful New Moon is initiating a new chapter which could significantly impact us over the next 6 months. Eclipses are a reset and an upgrade. They symbolise major turning points which can fast track us into the future and help us let go of the past.
If you’ve been feeling a bit low and depleted in the lead up to this eclipse you could start to feel your energy returning. With the Sun and Moon together in optimistic, inspirational Sagittarius you could also experience a renewal in your faith, positivity and luck over the coming weeks. Sagittarius and its ruler Jupiter is associated with good fortune and opportunities. Just tuning in to this abundant energy could be a tonic in itself!
A NEW BEGINNING WHICH INVOLVES LETTING SOMETHING GO
The Solar Eclipse is ending a cycle of eclipses that have been taking place in Gemini and Sagittarius since June 2020.
Sagittarius is about our beliefs and the truth. Gemini represents how we think and process information. Over the past 18 months these eclipses have been helping us to recalibrate old belief systems and embrace new ideas and perspectives.
This is a good time to reflect on how our beliefs and internal dialogue may have changed.
The South Node in Sagittarius (what we’re needing to let go of as a collective) is very close to the Sun and Moon at this eclipse, as is Mercury, the planet of communication. This suggests that we need to continue to pay close attention to our thought processes over the coming months and how we take in information. There is still a lot of confusion in the air and misinformation flying around. But the potential to let go of old dogmatic beliefs and untruths as we step into a new reality is huge.
The ruler of this eclipse is Jupiter in Aquarius, the teacher and guru of the skies. Jupiter’s role is to help us process and learn from some of the tough lessons and experiences we’ve been through over the past year. It can also help us connect to the highest manifestation of Sagittarius going forwards - inner wisdom, intuition and divine truth.
I find Eckhart Tolle’s advice on how to get through these transformative times very helpful. He says: '‘It is up to each one of us to start with ourselves, embrace this shift, and allow the unfolding of something beyond the mind''.
2022 – THE BEGINNING OF THE END
Pluto, the planet of detoxification and transformation, will move through the final degrees of Capricorn next year intensifying the collapse of the old structures. Capricorn represents governments, institutions and the very tent pegs of society. The astrology for the next two years suggests that the old hierarchal order may not be able to sustain itself much longer. Governments could literally start collapsing. One thing feels certain, the people who have abused their power in the past will continue to be held to account.
Over the past year, whilst Saturn (the old) and Uranus (the new) have been dialoguing with each other, there’s been a lot of pressure to create change. But the nature of this challenging square aspect means it’s felt a bit like two steps forward, one step back all year. If you’re feeling like things haven’t quite come together yet you need to be patient. The bigger picture is that things are still being reworked and reprogrammed. We have to continue to trust the process and the timing.
There will be a shift when Jupiter moves out of Aquarius. Jupiter is also the planet of miracles. It will be in Pisces for much of next year. This heart opening energy can help deepen our connection to unconditional love and amplify the healing and compassion that the world so badly needs. It can also help us let go of fear as we move more freely into a new paradigm and a new world. This is exactly what we need on the next stage of our journey.
As the North Node (our collective future and growth) prepares to leave Gemini in January, its message becomes even more urgent. Gemini, the sign of the twins, encourages us to embrace duality; to accept that two very different things can be going on at the same time. On the one hand it feels like the world is ending. On the other hand, through all this pain and suffering a rebirth is taking place.
Continuing to focus on the bigger picture and holding a vision of the kind of world we’d like to live in, continues to be the way forward.
There could be a very significant turning point in six months’ time around April, 30th 2022. This is when we have our next Solar Eclipse which will be in Taurus. Taurus is the sign associated with planet earth and the building of something of value which can stand the test of time. This Solar Eclipse is very well aspected to Mars, action and passion and Uranus which is about revolutionary change.
I know I say this a lot, but this really is a powerful time for co-creating with the universe and setting intentions for your long-term future and growth (Sagittarius). This is potent, positive manifesting energy!
