Aries New Moon Solar Eclipse: A Portal of Power, 29, March, 2025

Today’s Partial Solar Eclipse (29/3/25) at 9 degrees Aries, was exact at 10.58 am GMT, 03.58 PST. Tomorrow, Neptune will move into Aries for the first time in 165 years.

These big astrological events are creating a much-needed shift. Astrologically, March has been one of the most intense months that I can remember.

The Cosmic Backdrop – Why Everything Feels So Intense

Firstly, we are in Eclipse Season, a time of accelerated growth, major completions, and new beginnings. Eclipses are turbo-powered New Moons and Full Moons.

We’re still feeling the effects of the March 14th Total Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the Virgo/Pisces axis, which activated a deep karmic release. The Moon in Virgo, conjunct the South Node (collective karma and early conditioning), triggered a purge of unconscious patterns, ancestral baggage, and societal programming. With Virgo’s purification energy opposing the Sun in Pisces, which rules the lymphatic system and letting go - this was a full mind, body, spirit detox.

What’s more, Neptune, the planet that rules our divine connection, release and surrender, is sitting at 29° Pisces—the very last degree of the zodiac. It hasn’t been there since the 19th century. This marks an ultimate ending, a dissolution of old structures. With retrograde Venus and Mercury also crossing this point, we are at a threshold moment - a global karmic purge. There is an underlying feeling in the collective psyche that the world is coming to an end. If you've been feeling lost, exhausted, or overwhelmed, you’re not alone. Neptune dissolves boundaries, making us more sensitive to collective energies, but Neptune also offers transcendence. 29° Pisces is an alchemical point—the final surrender before a rebirth.

Today’s New Moon Solar Eclipse ignites a powerful new beginning. Aries, the warrior, brings fire, life force, and momentum. After the turbulence of our water dominated Eclipse Season, we’re coming back to dry land. The energy of Aries, the sign of the self, can help us get back in touch with our inner fire and passion. We’re regaining our strength and boundaries and returning to our own space and individual frequency.

Both Mercury and retrograde Venus are close to that 29 end-degree Pisces point, so we are still in a state of re-evaluation and reflection. However, whilst developments may be a bit delayed or uncertain, this powerful Solar Eclipse carries a lot of forward momentum.

After weeks of chaos and release, it’s time to get back on track and step into what’s next, even if the path is unclear.

What This Eclipse is Awakening

This is the final eclipse in the Aries/Libra cycle that began in April 2023 - developments that began then are coming to a conclusion. Over the past 2 years, the cosmic lessons have been around:

• Balancing independence with interdependence—when to stand alone and when to collaborate.

• Asserting our needs while remaining open to other perspectives.

• Shifting from forcing outcomes to attracting what we need.

Now, as we step into a fresh chapter, we have a chance to embody what we have learnt.

The Cosmic Landscape

This Aries Solar Eclipse arrives amidst deep karmic shifts. These are the themes:

• Stellium in Pisces (Venus, Saturn, Neptune, North Node at the end degrees of Pisces): Something emotional, spiritual, or karmic is completing, paving the way for Neptune’s historic entry into Aries at 0 degrees, the first degree of the zodiac, tomorrow (30th March).

• Mars Square Chiron: Mars rules this Eclipse, and its challenging aspect to the Aries Sun and Moon is asking us to confront old wounds around self-assertion, identity, and courage - transmuting wounds into wisdom and pain into purpose. But this is not just about pushing through pain, it’s learning how to integrate it. As German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, said – ‘whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger.’

• Mars Sextile Saturn & Uranus: This is an opportunity to build something of lasting value, combining tried and tested methods with radical out-of-the-box thinking. It’s a really supportive aspect!

Neptune Enters Aries: A Spiritual Rebirth – March-October,2025 and January, 2026-March 2039

Within 24 hours of today’s eclipse, Neptune moves into Aries, igniting a new era of spiritual sovereignty. The nebulous, boundary-dissolving energy of Neptune in Pisces gives way to a more assertive, self-directed spirituality—one where we are called to actively embody our soul’s mission rather than just dreaming about it. This is a spiritual initiation of the highest order.

Historically, this transit coincides with social revolutions. The last time Neptune entered Aries (April 1861)—coincided with the start of the American Civil War, a fight for human rights. History doesn’t have to repeat itself, but with Pluto in Aquarius, signifying “power to the people,” revolutionary energy is in the air. We are being encouraged to be the change we want to see in the world.

Saturn Joins Neptune in Aries - 25th May, 2025

When Saturn, the planet of structure and containment, shifts into Aries at the end of May, the consolidation of our dreams will begin to feel more tangible. Saturn makes things real.

Saturn and Neptune come together in a different sign every 36 years, but they haven’t been together in Aries for 12,000 years. This is a big deal! They won’t meet exactly until April 2026, but they’ll be travelling very close to each other for most of this year.

There is lovely symbolism here around spiritual (Neptune) embodiment (Saturn) and the integration of heaven (Neptune) and Earth (earth).
